Noun คือนามนับได้
มีสองรูปคือรูปเอกพจน์ (Singular)และพหูพจน์ (Plural)
มีกฎการเปลี่ยนรูปจากเอกพจน์เป็นพหูพจน์ดังนี้

โดยปกติเติม s ท้ายคำนามเอกพจน์ได้เลย เช่น a
book – books, a cow – cows, rose - roses
1.2
นามที่ลงท้ายด้วย s, ch, sh, x, z ให้เติม es
เช่น class – classes, bench – benches, fox -
foxes
1.3
นามที่ลงท้ายด้วย o และหน้า o เป็นพยัญชนะ ให้เติม es เช่น hero – heroes, tomato – tomatoes
*ยกเว้น photo – photos, kilo - kilos
1.4
นามที่ลงท้ายด้วย o และหน้า o เป็นสระ (a, e, i, o, u) ให้เติม s เช่น studio - studios, radio - radios
1.5
นามที่ลงท้ายด้วย y และหน้า y เป็นพยัญชนะ ให้เปลี่ยน y เป็น i แล้วเติม es เช่น fly – flies, story – stories

นามที่ลงท้ายด้วย y และหน้า y เป็นสระ ให้เติม s ได้เลย เช่น toy – toys, key – keys

นามที่ลงท้ายด้วย f, fe ให้เปลี่ยนเป็น v แล้วเติม es เช่น leaf – leaves, wife – wives, wolf –
wolves
*ยกเว้น roof – roofs, gulf – gulfs, chief -
chiefs

นามที่เปลี่ยนรูปเมื่อเป็นพหูพจน์ เช่น ox – oxen, child – children, tooth –
teeth, foot – feet, man – men และรวมถึงคำที่ผสมรวมกับ man และ woman ด้วย เช่น policeman
– policemen

คำผสมโดยปกติให้ทำคำหลังให้เป็นรูปพหูพจน์ เช่น mango tree – mango trees
1.10นามที่ไม่เปลี่ยนรูปเมื่อเป็นพหูพจน์
เช่น fish, sheep, deer,
fruit, Japanese, Chinese รวมถึงคำที่บอกสัญชาติที่ลงท้ายด้วย
ese ทั้งหมด
